Her Name in the Sky - Kelly Quindlen

ENGLISH REVIEW!
100 %
Alright, as this book hasn't been translated in Czech, I am gonna write an English review...
I am totally in love with this book. Honestly, I don't remember reading something so soft, engaging, powerful and full of emotions. There is so much to admire about the writing, the plot, the characters. I've known for a while, that the beauty in writing is in details. And Quindlen can play with little details all along, bringing short scenes from past, describing someone's fiddling or quirky moves.
The story is full of emotions. If I wasn't reading this in school, I would cry. It might seem like this book is dealing with something we might have seen (read, heard...) a few times by know - but it is told in such a complex way, it's hard to understand how someone could write it.
For once we see real struggle, and after that a real bravery of both main characters. Also the friendship and family relationships are well portrayed. It all feels real and raw - exactly what I was looking for.
My message: just read it and you'll find for yourself.
